Updated Login System
To improve the overall IT security of myWebLog, the login system has been redesigned. The new version was recently launched.
The improvements consist of a higher database encryption, stronger password requirements and case sensitive usernames.
If you or your users experience login problems, it is highly likely that the case sensitivity of the username is the issue. Please ensure that the usernames are typed exactly as they are registered in the user/member database.
Most clubs and organizations use a numberbased username system. If you use alpha-numeric usernames in your organization, it might be a good idea to inform your members about this change. There is a new notice on the login screen regarding case sensitivity, but a message to your members may save you a question or two.
Stronger Passwords
All new passwords now have stronger requirements:
• At least 8 characters long
• Must contain one letter (a-z), one number and one special character
• Can not include the username or member number
Any login (web version only) with a weak password will be prompted to change password prior to 2023-12-31. After this date, older passwords will be reset.
Password For New Users
It is no longer possible for you as an administrator to reset a user password. Your members shall use the «I forgot my password…» function on the login screen to change a forgotten password. A valid email address is required.
